Who this pathway is for

A student or recent graduate in statistics, computer science, information systems, economics, social research, public health, engineering or a related field who wants practical experience working carefully with real-world data.

What to include

  • A one-page CV
  • A short note describing one data or research project you have completed
  • Your current technical tools, even if basic, such as Excel, Python, R, SPSS, Stata, SQL, KoboToolbox or Power BI
  • Your weekly availability and preferred internship duration

Location: Remote, with occasional in-person work in Kampala where a project requires it

Deadline:

This is a supervised learning role, not a generic office internship. Interns may support data validation, cleaning, transcription or structuring, documentation of data dictionaries, simple analysis, research-source checks, quality-control logs and preparation of charts or summaries. Assignments depend on active projects and are scoped so that interns do not handle sensitive information without appropriate controls.\n\nTypical duration: 8–12 weeks. Applicants do not need to know every tool listed above; evidence of careful work, willingness to learn and good documentation matters more than a long software list.

What happens next

Submit an expression of interest using the dedicated application form. This is not an offer of work or funding; confirmed openings will specify location, duration, compensation and selection criteria.

Do not send identity documents, confidential client materials or sensitive personal information with your initial application.
