Security Assessment, Penetration Testing & Hardening

Find exploitable paths, close them and verify the fix.

Purpose & context

Find exploitable paths, close them and verify the fix.

We test applications, APIs, infrastructure, cloud environments, identities and connected data workflows to identify exploitable weaknesses and insecure trust assumptions. Assessments combine manual testing with appropriate tooling and are designed around realistic attack paths rather than scanner output alone. We then work with technical teams to reduce exposure, tighten permissions, improve configuration and verify material fixes. Where a system includes AI or machine-learning components, relevant model, retrieval or tool-access risks are tested as part of the same application architecture.

A good fit when

  • A system, API, integration or data platform is approaching launch or has undergone a major architectural change.
  • You need independent evidence that authentication, authorisation, tenant boundaries and privileged paths resist realistic abuse.
  • Existing findings need to be converted into concrete hardening work and verified remediation rather than another vulnerability report.

Services in this area

Practical support for your priorities.

Application and API security

Test authentication, authorisation, session handling, object and tenant boundaries, input handling, sensitive actions, API exposure and data leakage across web, mobile and service interfaces.

Infrastructure and cloud testing

Assess exposed services, network paths, cloud configuration, administrative interfaces, secrets, storage permissions and escalation opportunities within the authorised scope.

Identity and privilege testing

Examine user, administrator, service-account and machine-identity boundaries; account recovery; token handling; excessive privilege and paths from one compromised identity to broader access.

Hardening and retesting

Support remediation through secure configuration, reduced attack surface, permission changes and architectural controls, then retest important findings to establish whether the exploit path has actually been closed.

What we cover

Focused work. Useful evidence.

Web, mobile and API security assessment

Authorised penetration testing of applications, infrastructure and cloud services

Authentication, authorisation, tenant-isolation and privilege-escalation testing

Service-account, machine-identity, secrets and token-handling review

Third-party integration and software-dependency security review

Data exposure, tampering and exfiltration-path testing

Secure configuration and attack-surface hardening

Remediation support and evidence-based retesting

AI/ML-specific adversarial testing only where such components are present in the assessed system

What you take forward

Outputs designed to be used.

The final scope is agreed together. Depending on your needs, the engagement can include:

  • Rules of engagement and attack-surface map
  • Reproducible technical findings with affected trust boundaries
  • Attack-path and business-impact analysis
  • Prioritised remediation and hardening plan
  • Secure configuration recommendations
  • Retest evidence for agreed remediated findings
  • Executive risk summary for technical and non-technical owners

How we approach it

From the question to a practical next step.

Scope the attack surface

Agree explicit authorisation, systems, identities, testing windows, fragile dependencies, operational contacts and stop conditions. Map the most consequential trust boundaries before testing begins.

Test realistic paths

Combine manual testing and appropriate tools to examine how weaknesses chain together across authentication, permissions, APIs, infrastructure and connected data flows. Confirm findings carefully within the agreed boundaries.

Close and retest

Work through practical remediation with system owners, reduce the exposed path and retest material findings so the final assurance reflects the changed system rather than the original report.

Illustrative use case

What this can look like in practice.

A multi-tenant platform exposes web and API services to customers and uses cloud storage plus several backend integrations. We can test tenant separation, administrative permissions, API object access, service identities, exposed infrastructure and sensitive data paths, then support hardening and retest the critical findings before release.

Planning an engagement

What should we prepare?

Bring the decision you need to make, a description of the relevant systems or data, known constraints and your timeline. We can agree the appropriate access and confidentiality arrangements before any sensitive information is shared.

How do we define success?

We agree specific questions and useful outputs at the start. Outputs such as rules of engagement and attack-surface map are reviewed against the decisions you need to make. Limitations, dependencies and follow-up work remain visible in the handover.
